Vallcarca i els Penitents is a neighborhood in the northernmost part of Gràcia, a district of Barcelona. Until 1904 it belonged to the municipality of Horta. It grew out of a few scattered settlements: L'Hostal de la Farigola, Can Falcó, Can Mas and Can Gomis.
It is locked between the Putget and El Coll hills, and its streets are among the steepest in the city. To the north it borders the Collserola mountain range, and to the south the Vila de Gràcia and La Salut.
