Get to know el Raval
El Raval is one of the four neighbourhoods of the Ciutat Vella district in central Barcelona, and the most densely populated of them. It lies between Carrer de Pelai, La Rambla, Avinguda del Paral·lel, the rondes of Sant Pau and Sant Antoni, and the port.
It was once informally known as the Barri Xinès, or Barrio Chino, and was long associated with nightlife and cabarets. Today its community is very diverse, with many people born abroad, and it has many bars, restaurants and community spaces.
