Aspe is a town in the comarca of Vinalopó Mitjà, inland in the province of Alicante, in the valley of the river Vinalopó. It is famous for a special grape eaten one at a time at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve all across Spain. The local economy rests on textiles, footwear and growing vegetables and fruit.
Besides the Vinalopó, the Tarafa and the Rambla de les Monges cross the municipality, and the peaks of Matamoros, Ofra and Ors rise around it. Large fiestas fill the summer, and every other year the town's patron, the Virgen de las Nieves, comes to Aspe.
