Get to know Arona

Arona is a municipality in the south of Tenerife, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. It is the island's third largest town after Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Cristóbal de La Laguna, and with Adeje and San Miguel de Abona it forms the Tenerife Sur metropolitan area. The administrative centre is the old town of Arona, up in the hills.

Along the coast lie the resorts of Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos, Costa del Silencio, Palm-Mar and Las Galletas, and ferries leave from here for La Gomera. Valle de San Lorenzo lives from export farming, and Punta Salemas is the southernmost point of Tenerife. The TF-1 motorway runs through the municipality.
