Arévalo is a municipality and town in the province of Ávila, in Castilla y León. It lies in the north of the province, is the capital of the comarca of La Moraña and has 7851 inhabitants, the second largest population in the province after Ávila.
Known as the City of the Five Lineages, it is surrounded by wide plains, on the tongue of land where the rivers Adaja and Arevalillo meet. Its old town is declared a site of cultural interest and keeps many examples of Castilian Mudéjar architecture, also called brick Romanesque.
