Arenas is a municipality in the province of Málaga, in Andalusia, with 1291 residents (2025). It sits in the Axarquía, between the sierras of Tejeda and Almijara and the Castle of Bentomiz. It is a Moorish village very close to the Costa del Sol and the Mediterranean beaches.
Streams, oak woods and pomegranate trees give the setting rich vegetation. Grapevines and olives were the main crops, and since the early 2000s some were replaced by mango and avocado. It borders Algarrobo, Sayalonga, Canillas de Albaida, Salares, Sedella, Canillas de Aceituno, La Viñuela and Vélez-Málaga.
