Avenida Madre Maravillas, 23. Arenas de San Pedro, Ávila, Castile and León, Spain
The main town of its comarca in Ávila province, with much of its land inside the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park.
Arenas de San Pedro is a town in the province of Ávila, Castile and León, the capital of its comarca and head of its judicial district. It became a villa in 1393, under King Henry III of Castile. In the eighteenth century the Infante Luis Antonio de Borbón lived here with a small court of artists, Goya and Boccherini among them, in the neoclassical palace he had built.
Much of the municipality belongs to the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park, and it is the most populous town around the park. Ramacastañas, La Parra and Hontanares are its outlying villages. The patron saint festivities honour the Virgen del Pilar de Arenas and San Pedro de Alcántara.
