Ardales is a municipality in the comarca of Guadalteba, in the province of Málaga. It has 2524 inhabitants (2025) and lies at 445 metres. It sits between Álora, Teba and Casarabonela, 52 km from Málaga.
It stands on the northern foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves, where the Guadalhorce reservoirs begin. On the hill above the town are the historic church, the ruins of the castle and the Ermita del Calvario. The Caminito del Rey is close by, and the Cave of Ardales is part of the landscape too.
