Ames is a municipality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, in the Santiago comarca, bordering Santiago de Compostela. It has the fastest population growth in Galicia, driven by the metropolitan expansion of Santiago. Several routes of the Way of Saint James cross its land.

Much of the population lives in O Milladoiro, next to Santiago, and in Bertamiráns, home of the town hall. Tradition says the name O Milladoiro comes from the piles of stones pilgrims left before reaching Santiago. The municipality also takes in Biduído, Ortoño, Bugallido, Ames, Covas, Agrón, Trasmonte and A Ameixenda, along with manor houses such as A Peregrina and Lens.
