A white village in the Guadalhorce Valley, set between three rocky spurs topped by a castle.
Álora is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, in the Valle del Guadalhorce comarca, in Andalusia. It is a typical pueblo blanco, a whitewashed village between three rocky spurs topped by the castle ruins. It stands on the right bank of the river Guadalhorce.
The municipality ranges from gentle hills of cereal, olive and oak trees to orchards of fruit and vegetables on the valley floor. The Phoenicians built the foundations of the castle, and the Romans fortified it. Its people are called Perotes.
