The Province of Almería is part of Andalusia in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, with the city of Almería as its capital, in the middle of the bay of the same name. The province takes in the Almanzora valley and Los Vélez, along with Almería, Roquetas de Mar, El Ejido, Níjar, Vícar and Adra. Níjar is its largest municipality by area.
