Alhama de Almería is a municipality in the province of Almería, Andalusia, in the south-east of the Alpujarra Almeriense comarca. It sits in the Andarax valley, a village rich in water that is also called Alhama la Seca or Alhama de Salmerón. The Arabs considered its thermal waters the most medicinal on the peninsula.

Its neighbours are Huécija, Alicún, Terque, Alhabia, Santa Fe de Mondújar and Enix. The municipality has two settlements: Alhama de Almería, the municipal capital, and Huéchar.
