Aldeanueva de la Vera is a municipality in the province of Cáceres, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. It belongs to the mancomunidad of La Vera. It sits on the foothills of the sierra, between the Tormantos range and the Jaranda or Peña Negra range, beside the Horcajo gorge.
Its municipal land borders Garganta la Olla, Cuacos de Yuste, El Guijo de Santa Bárbara and Jarandilla de la Vera. It was founded in the Middle Ages as a hamlet of Plasencia. In 1802 it was granted the title of villa.
