Albalat de la Ribera is a municipality in the province of Valencia, in the comarca of Ribera Baixa. The town centre is 7 km from the comarca capital, Sueca, and 33 km from Valencia. Most of the municipal land belongs to the Albufera natural park.

Water from the Acequia Real del Júcar brought irrigation, and with it rice. Citrus later gained ground, and today orange trees are the main crop, with rice in the marshland. Some believe the legendary Roman city of Sucro lies beneath the town.
