Get to know Albacete

Albacete is a city in Castilla-La Mancha, capital of the province of the same name and seat of the regional High Court of Justice. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-Basit, the flat, after the level land around it. The city is known for its clasp knives and for the Feria de Albacete in September, a Fiesta of International Tourist Interest.

The city is organised into five districts and spreads over flat ground, which helps make it one of the most accessible cities in Spain. Motorways, the AVE railway and Albacete Airport connect it, and it has a University of Castilla-La Mancha campus and the Campollano industrial area. Los Llanos Air Base is also here.
