Agost is a town and municipality in the comarca of l'Alacantí, in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community. It lies about 18 km west of the city of Alicante, south of the Serra del Ventós, and has 5225 inhabitants (2025).
It is known for its pottery tradition and a mountain setting with many hiking routes. Being some way from the sea, it missed the mass tourism of the Costa Blanca and has kept its local character. Farming remains a second source of income for many families.
